West Florida Medical Center Clinic PA is Hiring a MedPro Patient Access Specialist Near Pensacola, FL

Description

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the VP, MedPro Operations, the MedPro Patient Access Specialist (MPAS) is responsible for assisting with appointment scheduling of various Medical Center Clinic (MCC) medical specialties. This includes answering incoming calls in a timely manner while meeting high-quality customer service standards and ensuring callers desiring to schedule appointments with MCC providers receive prompt, personalized, and courteous assistance. Knowledge of MCC outpatient physician practice operations as well as various health insurance plans is a must to ensure the needs of the patient are served during the appointment scheduling process. Close contact and cooperation with individuals and departments is required to navigate the various multi-specialty schedules of the Medical Center Clinic. Additionally, the MPAS will work closely with MedPro Support Services, displaying overall efficiency in system support processes such as file maintenance, setup and reporting of the AR system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Determine the need for change by reviewing and analyzing the performance of various procedures as directed by MPS and MCC.
  • Work with MPS and MCC departments to assist in the development and performance of project specific processes designed to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Make recommendations to improve efficiency in identified procedures.
  • Assist with change management, training, and implementation of procedures.
  • Follow up on procedure changes and adjust processes as necessary.
  • Perform support processes on temporary as well as long term basis based on need.
  • Train responsible parties for ongoing system maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma required, AA or BS degree preferred.
  • preferred.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a medical front office required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Displays customer services skills, strong interpersonal skills, close attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and basic math skills.

  • Ability to work with staff members at all levels of the organization in a cooperative, team-oriented manner.
  • Displays computer proficiency (i.e. PC Windows, MS Office) and ability to quickly learn new applications.
  • Proficient in use of English language both in written and verbal communication. 
  • Must be able to communicate with individuals of varying socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Must be committed to the protection of confidential information, records and/or reports.
  • Possess strong critical thinking and analytical skills. 
  • Ability to speak in front of groups and give presentations. 
  • Ability to work independently in a high energy, ever-changing environment.
