Midwest Refrigerated Services is a full-service 3PL company providing refrigerated logistics services for the food industry. Based in Milwaukee, WI, we operate the largest fresh 48 state LTL consolidation pool with more than 100 trucks, and offer multiple sites with cooler, and air-conditioned storage, distribution, and cross-docking services. We operate refrigerated and non-refrigerated warehouses for storage needs but also Value-Added Services such as specialty packing, kitting, and fulfillment needs. General Accountabilities:

  • Afterhours Operational Needs:
    1. Effectively Communicate with Drivers, Carriers, and Customers
    2. OSD Resolution for Drivers and Carriers
    3. Safety/Maintenance Afterhours management and resolution
    4. Update LME and PB in Real Time for all Afterhours Deliveries
      • Includes management of Drivers’ “Messaging Board”
      • Includes clearing and progressing of Driver Manager “Board”
    5. Check Calls / In-Out Time Updates for PU’s and deliveries
    6. Lumper Updates
    7. Accessorial Inbox Management and Progression
    8. Progression of overnight Fleet Trips in real time
  • Driver/Carrier Support for MRT/MRL
    1. Driver/Carrier Advances (Comdata)
    2. Afterhours OSD Initial POC (includes temp related issues) .
    3. Orbcomm temp/fuel and alert management
  • Afterhours Customer Service
    1. Communicate afterhours pertinent OSD and delivery issues to Customers
    2. Maintain continuity between after-hours customer communication and CS team
    3. Late/Delay Notifications to customers and CS/Routing team as needed
    4. Pass off of afterhours challenges to proper team for follow up or if further action is required
  • General Support for all things MRT/MRL related throughout the evening hours
    1. Assist with PU and delivery appointment needs if directed
    2. Assist with keeping “Product Types” updated in LME and PB as needed
    3. Progression of “Carrier Delivered” inbounds/outbounds

Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.
  • Familiar with North American highway system and relevant points in
    1. McLeod network (yards, terminals, fueling points, etc.)
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of company policy and procedures, with special focus on driver handbooks and policy guides.
