**Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):**

**Resort Wide:**

* Consistently follow the I-Serve standards at all times.

* Follow all company and department policies and procedures.

* Attend safety meetings, keep the workplace in safe condition, and work in a safe manner.

* Adhere to attendance policy and report to workstation at scheduled start time.

* Propose ideas or find ways to improve services, systems, and/or procedures.

* Acts as a first responder with medical situations that occur frequently on the premises.

* Acts as a Supervisor to the Pool Safety Officer II (PSO2).

* Responsible for scheduling PSO 2s.

* Acts as liaison between engineering to ensure proper maintenance of the pools.

* Patrols resort pool areas to detect and report unsafe conditions, missing or inoperative safety equipment.

* Engages with gests to ensure they are following rules and regulation so that they have a safe and pleasant stay.

* Aids in training PSO2s for positions on the slide and patrolling.

* Enforces ABC rules and regulations for pool area Kiosks and surrounding areas.

* Checks each guest as they enter the pool area for appropriate documentation and ensures that they are authorized to be in the pool area.

* In case of special events checks each guest who enters the pool area to ensure they are twenty one or older.

* Monitors and responds to pool door alarms, maintains wrist band control, answers telephones, and utilizes two way radios.

* Retains and relays information received under stressful conditions, respond to calls quickly and calmly, and make sound decisions under pressure

* Must have the ability to calm guests and visitors in emergent, emotional or stressful situations.

* Warns violators of rule infractions and/or ejects persons disturbing the peaceful and pleasant experience of resort guests.

* Works as a liaison with responding law enforcement officials, fire, and medical resources; as well as a link between the general public, departmental administrative personnel, and personnel in other departments of Welk Resorts.

* Participates as part of the Emergency Response Team in the event of an emergency.

* Ability to operate motor and low speed vehicles in a safe and efficient manner including both standard and automatic transmissions.

* Performs all other duties as assigned.

* Maintains reliable transportation to and from work.

* Display a positive, friendly and outgoing attitude to all guests/customers and fellow employees at all times.

* Be fully knowledgeable and respectful of all rules, policies, regulations and procedures as they relate to your department and/or the entire resort.

* Complete daily audit shift closing sheets using appropriate cash handling procedures.

* Staffing holiday and special functions.

* Maintain work areas in a clean and efficient state

* Be familiar with all services that the Welk Resort offers on property.

* Daily opening and closing procedures according to SOPs.

**Education and/or Experience:**

High School diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, follow detailed procedures, and have excellent customer service skills. Must be able to work collegially and independent of intensive supervision.

**Language Skills:**

Must have excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills, including the ability to speak over the phone or radio clearly, to communicate with people of diverse social and cultural backgrounds, and to establish and maintain working relationships with other agencies . Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write extensive articulate reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or associates of the organization.

**Reasoning Ability:**

Ability to carry out accurately and precisely instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Possess and demonstrate:

* A high degree of knowledge of resort security standard operating procedures, policies, principles, and concepts;

* Prudent and sound judgment; and

* The ability to resolve problems with minimal supervision as they arise.
