The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key member of WebsterRogers’ Leadership Team. This position works to track metrics and performance indicators, implement strategy, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and oversee all aspects of day to day operations.

In alignment with the firm’s mission and values, this position is responsible for timely execution of strategic projects and initiatives as well as for monitoring team performance and ensuring alignment of service line operations across the firm. The COO oversees all corporate support operations including Information Technology (IT) and Finance and has both budget and P&L responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with the WR Leadership Team to develop, execute and achieve WR strategic plans and goals
  •  Initiates development of, and aggregates annual business plans and budgets.
  • Coordinates goals and performance metrics with Service Line Leaders (i.e. Assurance, Tax, BSG, ASG and Consulting)
  • Oversees administrative budgets and monitors project execution and performance of departments (IT, Finance).
  • Fosters and promotes alignment amongst the service lines and corporate support groups. Leads the creation and implementation of project and budget change control process.
  • Visits offices periodically as appropriate to stay in touch with office needs and to assess the implementation of and compliance with Firm strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Works with the Leadership Team on strategy execution and to establish firm and practice line metrics to ensure both strategic and tactical business objectives are met
  • Partners with Service Line Leaders
    1. Achieve performance metrics
    2. Ensure procedures have been implemented and enforced to ensure timely billings and collections
    3. Expand the practice by utilizing all available resources of the Firm, regardless of location
    4. Define and drive strategic initiatives and practice operations within offices and business lines while identifying and implementing operational best practices
    5. Ensure each office is in conformance with the Firm’s standards, policies and procedures
    6. Ensure each office is in conformance with the Firm’s strategies, objectives, goals and has adequate plans to achieve goals
    7. Identify and raise matters of concern to the attention of the MP and Leadership Team as appropriate
    8. Approve or reject requested additions to the hire plan in excess of budget
    9. Tracks and analyzes firm-wide and practice success metrics including ROI for all activities; recommends course corrections where needed.
    10. Approves contributions, fixed asset expenditures and lease commitments, subject to the limits established by the MP or LT
    11. Leads the creation and implementation of standardized processes, procedures and policies for the firm’s operating strategies.
    12. Sponsors Continuous Improvement initiatives
    13. Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications


    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, operations, management, law, engineering, or another relevant field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Operations experience in professional services firm preferred, with solid understanding of staff management, industry specifics and business strategies
  • Strong leadership and management skills with demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and achieve results required; must have prior supervisory experience
  • Tech savvy with experience in analyzing data to recognize trends and diagnose business health Strong understanding of business economics and budgeting
  • Demonstrated ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change
  • Willingness to work primarily on site in Florence, SC, Knowledgeable in Office 365 applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
  • Demonstrated discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information
