Watts Regulator is Hiring an Assistant Controller Near St Pauls, NC
Reporting to the Site controller, this individual will supervise a small staff while managing the accounting, cost records, and internal control requirements of the site as well as supporting the Site Controller to drive business/manufacturing results while partnering with the Site Management team. This role relies heavily on analytical abilities and experience to sort through complex data, and prepares meaningful information to assist management with decision making, accounting deliverables, and business performance metrics and reports. As a member of the Site finance team, this individual will work cross functionally to identify areas of improvement in process and operations. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Ensure maintenance of accurate and complete financial records, in compliance with both legal requirements and US GAAP standards. Lead the effort of establishing, monitoring, and enforcing an effective internal controls environment. Develop and take necessary actions to support the parent company’s SOX compliance effort. Coordinate the quarterly and year-end reviews with the auditors. Meet corporate financial reporting requirements in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure accuracy of cost records. Support North America annual standards cost roll and ad hoc adjustments to standards during the year. Facilitate the annual budget and quarterly forecast processes. Work with site management to ensure accountability to the budgets and forecasts. Monitor, analyze, investigate, and report variances to standard, budget, forecast and prior periods. Make recommendations to site management where appropriate. Assist in the identification and measuring of productivity objectives for continuous improvement. Supervise Cycle Count inventories and processes. Utilize appropriate financial analysis techniques, data and assumptions to evaluate investment opportunities and ensure healthy returns on investment while managing risks. Work with finance teams at other manufacturing sites to streamline and automate processes and reporting, ensuring consistency across sites. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS: BS/BA in Accounting or related BS/BA degree with equivalent experience. MBA/CMA is a plus. Experience in a similar role, managerial role in finance or accounting for a manufacturing company. Capable of researching, retrieving, organizing, and summarizing data to prepare reports, financial journal entries, and financial analysis. Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to interface and work effectively with business partners Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Experience with ERP and financial systems; QAD and Hyperion are a plus. *PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear.
