JOB DESCRIPTION:

WSI is currently seeking a Roll Of Driver who is ready to join our growing team. This position has the principal responsibility of operating a company truck and driving to various locations in order to do any or all of the following: deliver, remove and haul roll-off containers to/from customer’s sites. This position may require driving in congested and/or confined areas. This position will be required to enter/exit the truck several times per day. Technicians may also be required to climb to hook/unhook containers, move items to smooth the load, and to secure tarps. Roll Off Drivers are exposed to extreme weather conditions and unpleasant odors and sights. The hours and physical demand may vary by task. WSI is a team environment and at any time a Roll Off Driver may be asked to help in a different department with different tasks.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  1. Operates truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies. 
  2. Performs & submits daily pre/post trip on truck. Major concerns should be brought up to the Branch Manager ASAP.
  3. Must follow all WSI’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and General Standards.
  4. Performs all task assigned by Branch Manager, including but not limited to responding to trouble/emergency calls in a timely manner. 
  5. Drives a roll-off truck along designated commercial and residential routes to mechanically collect construction debris and take it to a disposal site.
  6. Cleans loose trash off of truck and/or ground around truck and container that spills during dumping process to maintain clean customer site and safety along roads and highways.
  7. Follows dispatching software follows route, takes photos, calls customers when needed, leaves note on status of stop, asset or any discussion had with customer. 
  8. Ensure customers are satisfied with our quality of service and we meet their expectations. All contact is to be document within dispatching system. 

DAILY ROUTE DRIVER TOP SKILLS & PROFICIENCIES:

  • Ability to read, operate and understand an electronic map/gps/dispatching system utilizing a phone or iPad.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing).
  • General knowledge of mechanics of trucks.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Experience: 1-year previous commercial driving experience preferred
  • Possess a valid driver license CDL B 
  • Drug-Free, must pass a drug test if/when requested
