Located on 51 acres, our wellness program provides a peaceful environment for treatment balanced in traditional, cultural and spiritual values and practices. The Healing Lodge treatment program integrates traditional, spiritual and cultural values with chemical dependency and mental health counseling to create a holistic approach toward healing. About the Position
The Mental Health Therapist’s responsibility will be to provide therapy for adolescent residents in our inpatient residential care facility as well as provide individual, family and group counseling to children, adolescents and their families.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Provides mental health counseling consultation and support for adolescent co-occurring disorders treatment team.
•Provides individual and group counseling.
• Develop service plans and conduct reviews as needed throughout the duration of treatment.
•Assists in the treatment staffing of residents regarding mental health problems.
•Coordinates mental health counseling activities within the department.
•Collaborate on intervention plans with other mental health counselors and medical staff (as needed).
•Provides assessment of patients; interprets results of assessments.
•Ensures the maintenance of confidential patient files and charts as it pertains to mental health issues.
•Provides mental health training for staff when determined appropriate by the Program Manager or Department Director.
•Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of mental health treatment activities.
•Completes discharge planning and forms in a thorough and timely manner.
•Complete and maintain documentation in a timely and accurate manner and according to Federal, State and Accreditation Guidelines.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience:
•Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field plus at least three years related counseling experience, preferably working with chemically dependent adolescents or in an inpatient chemical dependency treatment program – OR – willing to consider a combination of education and experience that demonstrate the ability to perform successfully in the position.
•Knowledge and understanding of diagnosis in the DSM V TR and mental health assessment tools as related to adolescents required.
•Knowledge of State, Federal, Indian Health Services, and accreditation requirements preferred
•Experience working with Native American adolescents preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:
•Must have an Associates License (LMHCA) as defined under RCW 18.225.090 – OR-
•Current Washington State license as an LMHC, LMFT, or LICSW and Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS) preferred.
•Washington State Clinical Supervisor Credential (preferred)
•Must maintain valid Washington State Driver’s License
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have basic computer skills, including working knowledge in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
Physical Demands:

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The work performed in this position will required sitting for long periods of time, utilizing a computer and looking at a screen for extended periods of time.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is generally performed in an indoor environment with frequent normal-level conversations. Work situations involve interpersonal relationships in a job setting beyond giving and receiving work instructions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
