The Medical Technologist assists the professional staff in conducting, evaluating, and documenting routine and specialized tests of blood and other specimens in the areas of hematology, coagulation, serology, chemistry, urinalysis, and microbiology. The Medical Technologist is responsible for meeting and maintaining established medical and laboratory protocols. At a minimum, must perform established Washington Health System Core Medical Technologist Skills & Responsibilities.
For a MT: Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science, OR successful completion of the Laboratory Assistant requirements/program at Washington Health System AND completion of the ASCP certification required OR successful completion of the Laboratory Assistant requirements/program at Washington Health System AND completion 2 years in MLT role at Washington Health System required.
For a MLT: Associate Degree in a Laboratory science or Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) OR completion of the Laboratory Assistant requirements/program at Washington Health System.
ASCP or other appropriate licensing agency preferred.
