THE POSITION
The Opportunity!
The Washington County Sheriff's Office is looking for a Senior Administrative Specialist to join our Jail Administration Team! The Senior Administrative Specialist in this position will provide advanced administrative support to complete duties such as:
  • Coordinating Command team scheduling
  • Processing Tort Claims
  • Creating Organizational Charts
  • Issuing Temporary Division orders from Command
  • Processing Records Requests
  • Creating/Distributing Command correspondence
  • Coordinating Admin/Command meetings, including agendas and minutes.
  • Creating Presentations
  • Tracking Facility Access (staff & contractors)
  • Serve as the Archives and Facilities/ Telecom Liaison

The ideal candidate is efficient, trustworthy, and organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize job duties while working with frequent interruptions. This position will require the ideal candidate to be proficient in utilizing Microsoft programs such as Word and Excel to complete administrative tasks. Additionally, our ideal candidate will need to demonstrate effective oral and written communication with Adults in Custody (AIC's), citizens, and all levels of Washington County staff members.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
AND
  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience providing administrative or clerical support.
Additional Licenses, Certificates, Physical Abilities, and Specialty Requirements:
  • Some positions may be required to possess a valid driver's and have an acceptable driving record per Washington County policy.
  • This position will require candidates to pass a criminal background investigation conducted by the Sheriff's office.
  • Final candidates will be required to pass a post-offer drug screen.

Regular and limited duration full-time employees working 30 hours or more per week and job share employees are eligible for benefits beginning on the first of the month following employment.
