Title: Software Engineer (Java Development and DevOps) No C2C

Summary:

CEI’s entertainment client is adding a highly skilled and motivated Java DevOps Software Engineer to their team based out of Orlando, FL. As part of their ongoing expansion and utilization of the Connected Product Platform, applications, and devices, they are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in both Java backend development and DevOps. This role demands proficiency in Java and experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and Rancher.

Job at a glance:

• 8-month contract

• $75-$80/hr. W2

• Orlando, FL on the hybrid schedule working 2-3 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of software systems, focusing on backend Java solutions and DevOps practices.

• Own the full software development lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software solutions.

• Drive the development of software components and oversee the work of subordinate engineers to ensure high-quality deliverables.

• Collaborate with other technical teams to integrate systems and ensure that solutions meet business requirements and are delivered on time.

• Develop technical solutions that adhere to high standards of code quality and maintainability through rigorous testing and review processes.

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Maven to enhance development efficiency and deployment reliability.

• Serve as a technical leader and mentor, offering guidance and expertise in Java development and DevOps methodologies to junior team members.

• Ensure all software solutions are scalable, reliable, and optimized for high performance.

• Participate in architectural decision-making, helping to shape the future direction of technology projects and solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of related experience in the design, development, and implementation of scalable, high-volume software systems and applications.

• Profound expertise in backend Java development, ideally with Java 11 or newer, and familiarity with object-oriented programming, multithreading, concurrency, Java streams, and lambda expressions.

• Extensive experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC) and ORM frameworks like Hibernate/JPA.

• Proficient in DevOps practices including Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).

• Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with an emphasis on transparency, effectiveness, and deadline adherence.

• Excellent problem-solving skills, team collaboration, and communication abilities.
