Wake Internal Medicine Consultants, Inc. (WIMC) is a professional corporation that grew out of the Internal Medicine practice of Dr. Thomas Umphlet. Dr. Umphlet began his practice in 1938 at the Cameron Apartments building in Raleigh, North Carolina, with a medical office and onsite lab. This lab was the only approved serology lab in North Carolina that was not state owned.
