Monday-Friday (occasional evenings and weekends)

POSITION PURPOSE:

Provides direct support to the Senior Administrator-Title IX Coordinator. Assists in advising and educating school administrators and other stakeholders on Title IX laws, policies, and procedures in order to ensure accountability and compliance for investigation and reporting regulations, requirements, and practices. Assists with the management of filed claims, the timeline for investigating cases and reporting outcomes, and the data management of cases for recordkeeping purposes. Completes, reviews, and files Title IX reports, as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)

  • Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Google Apps;
  • Working knowledge of a student database management system, specifically the Every Child Accountability Tracking System (ECATS);
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with ability to develop processes to ensure compliance deadlines are met;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback;
  • Ability to pay exceptional attention to detail and taking initiative to verify the accuracy of content, which includes excellent organizational, analytical, and proofreading skills with the ability to track potential errors and verify accurate data contained in database;
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks in potentially adverse situations and under strict time constraints with limited direct supervision;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, Central Office staff across departmental lines, school-based staff, and the community.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associates degree or equivalent training; AND
  • Experience in verifying accuracy of data compiled and creating reports.

An equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully meet the essential duties may be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in education or a related field;
  • Experience working in a public-school environment;
  • Experience with basic statistical analysis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Serves as a primary resource and liaison for the community, school administrators, central administrators, and other government agencies on matters relating to Title IX laws, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance.
  2. Monitors adherence to requirements of Title IX laws and policies and leads communication to school administrators on non-compliance based on the Board of Education policy, federal, state, and local legal requirements.
  3. Responds to inquiries and questions from parents and/or guardians, school and central services-based staff, and community that relate to Title IX policies and the necessary procedures for filing complaints, as appropriate.
  4. Assists parents and/or guardians and students with highly confidential complaint concerns and provides them advisement on the proper next steps.
  5. Constructs and generate letters and documents for school officials, superintendent, and Board of Education representatives that explains processes and decisions.
  6. Assists in documenting filed complaints upon receipt, overseeing the timeline for investigations and reporting findings, and addressing the necessary recordkeeping for cases.
  7. Oversees a data management system for Title IX cases that are filed.
  8. Researches information regarding Title IX laws to ensure continued updated compliance information and help schools problem-solve.
  9. Answers technical questions and troubleshoots with school officials regarding Title IX complaints and concerns.
  10. Communicates with programmers regarding updates and technical issues with the database.
  11. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  12. Participates in professional learning in diversity, equity, and inclusion and will, as assigned, deliver appropriate professional support to district employees.
  13. Performs other related duties, as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff, staff members of external agencies, and the community. Work is considered light physical work, requiring the exertion of up to ten pounds of force.
