Apple's Platform Architecture Engineering team is currently looking for a hardware engineer to lead the design, implementation, and qualification of various prototyping platforms.
Key Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the design and development of high-speed digital and/or analog boards and systems.
• A shown understanding of the system development process including concept creation, schematics and board development, as well as board and system bring up and debugging.
• Demonstrated direct experience with one or more of the following technologies: CPU and microprocessor based systems, high speed FPGA board design, industry standard protocols (PCIe, USB, Ethernet, HDMI, etc.) and their design issues.
• Fluency with designing clock circuits and switching/linear power supplies.
• Good communication, analytical, and documentation skills required.

Description
You will work closely with cross-functional design teams to develop new technology prototypes. Application of computer system architecture for embedded designs, and PCB layout using high-speed digital and mixed signal design rules. Your duties will include schematic capture, guiding PCB design, proof-of-concept/prototyping bring-up and debugging, hardware bug tracking, test plan creation, test plan execution, functional verification, signal characterization, and manufacturing support. You will have the freedom to create and explore new product concepts.
Education & Experience
BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
Additional Requirements

• Experience with sensors and some analog experience.
• Comfortable using lab equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
• Experience with Cadence Concept and Allegro is a plus.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $132,300.00 and $241,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
