New Mexico Eyecare is Hiring an Optometric Technician Near Albuquerque, NM

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Optometric Technician to join our team. As an Optometric Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting optometrists with patient care and providing exceptional service to our patients. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the well-being of others and work in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary tests and measurements for patients, including visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision
- Obtain patient medical history and document relevant information accurately
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as tonometry, visual field testing, and retinal imaging
- Assist with contact lens fitting and instruction
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all equipment is properly sterilized and maintained
- Educate patients on proper eyewear care, contact lens insertion/removal, and general eye health
- Provide support to optometrists during examinations and procedures
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and processing insurance claims

Requirements:
- *Previous Optical Technician experience is required*
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with patients of all ages
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
