Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. One year of bookkeeping experience; completion of one-year business school program of instruction in computer accounting and bookkeeping; or completion of six semester credits in Accounting is required. Applicants will be subject to a thorough background investigation including a polygraph examination. Must be able to work various shifts, evenings, weekends and holidays and be able to lift items and/or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Employees in this position process and prepare bank deposit of all collected cash revenue; produce, package, and distribute transit fare media; maintain custody and reconcile funds and contents of main vault. This position requires the following duties/responsibilities: Prepare daily bank deposits of cash and checks, including physical verifications to ensure accuracy and accountability; packaging, seal, and record all coin and currency deposit bags. Generate daily cash reports for the reconciliations of all processed cash revenue; prepare deposit tickets and other supporting documents as required. Maintain custody and security control of cash funds and other valuable items stored in the vault; prepare daily reports and balance of vault contents and activities. Operate coin and currency counting equipment, electric pallet jack and stacker, computer terminals, calculator, and other cash processing and office equipment. Operate fare media encoding equipment; complete production log; prepare packages of fare media prior to distribution. Lift and maneuver bags and containers weighing up to 50 pounds. Sit and work with a personal computer for up to 4-hour period; stand and/or work in confined areas or workstations for up to 4-hour period.
