We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a DueDiligence Practitioner to manage,support, and deliver transactional advisoryservices for a diverse array of clients nationally. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position located in our Parsippany, NJ office.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:

  • Serve as a key member of the due diligence team to work collaboratively across the company supporting a wide variety of clients with numerous challenging projects.
  • Support the development and integration of sustainability, environmental justice, climate resilience, and ESG into our transactional due diligence practice.
  • Serve in a primary role to lead teams and personally conduct thorough ASTM Phase I site assessments to evaluate environmental risks associated with real estate transactions.
  • Serve in a secondary role to perform regulatory compliance reviews and assessments aligned with due diligence and other projects.
  • Analyze geological and environmental data to identify potential hazards or contamination on sites.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports outlining findings and recommendations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to gather and interpret data for accurate risk assessments.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders to address concerns and provide solutions.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff members in conducting due diligence activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of due diligence processes.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in geology, environmental science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8-12 years of experience in conducting due diligence activities, preferably in the real estate or environmental consulting industry.
  • Certification or licensure in relevant areas (e.g., Professional Geologist, Certified Environmental Professional) preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of ASTM site assessment standards and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in interpreting geological and environmental data to assess risks and impacts.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental compliance, including but not limited to, EPA regulations.
  • Ability to perform regulatory compliance reviews and assessments related to due diligence and other compliance projects.
  • Ability to support permitting projects and environmental compliance reporting.
  • Ability to support preparation of sustainability, environmental justice, climate resilience, and ESG reports.
  • Proven skills in constructive client engagement, resulting in successful project outcomes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to technical details.
  • Ability to present to and support clients with negotiating with regulators.
  • Computer Skills – Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in industry standard software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient at writing, reviewing and editing technical reports to meet scope and quality objectives and client expectations.
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates preferred, and strong commitment to safety.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed to support clients, projects, and project team collaboration.
