The Advising, Counseling, & Support Services Department is recruiting for a student worker to work part-time in JP's Market. This position is responsible for providing support to the operations of Victoria College's Support Services within a culture of student-centered support services. This position assists students in the utilization of JP's Market, JP's Mini-Pantries, and JP's Clothing Closet; connects students with additional support services; and maintains inventory, organization and cleanliness within an environment of exceptional customer service. Duties & Responsibilities
Welcomes and assists students in visiting JP's Market ensuring a positive experience
Understands and adheres to JP's Market policy and procedures
Communicates with visiting students about additional support services and resources available
Assists students in-person or by phone as needed
Maintains inventory on shelves by re-stocking when needed
Assists with cleaning, organizing, and maintaining the market
Keeps shelves and fridge/freezer cleaned, stocked, and organized with merchandise that are accessible and organized
Assists with unloading and stocking merchandise for the market
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Advising & Counseling and Support Services Coordinator
Qualifications
Enrollment in minimum of 6 credit hours in the Fall and Spring semester and 3 credit hours in the summer
English proficiency
Demonstrate proficient written and oral communication skills
Friendly and professional attitude and good interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to establish and meet timelines
Team player who is dependable, punctual, organized, and detail oriented
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds while loading and unloading market inventory. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen. Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. not benefit eligible 01
