MANAGER/ SENIOR MANAGER, CORPORATE DIGITAL/ SOCIAL COMMUNICATIONS
SUMMARY:
As part of the growing, Boston-based Corporate Communications team, reporting to the Executive Director, Corporate and Digital/Social Communications, this role will be instrumental in helping to shape and grow our corporate digital footprint. We're seeking an enthusiastic individual and strong writer who can create compelling content that elevates our brand, share stories that inform and inspire, and foster authentic connections across diverse internal and external audiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate on execution of Ionis' corporate digital communication strategy, aligning with key business objectives, enhancing brand visibility, and expanding Ionis' digital reach and impact.
• Oversee day-to-day operations and management of our corporate channels including website, intranet, social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, X/Twitter).
• Manage the development of our editorial calendar, using data and insights to achieve the right variety, formats, and cadence of new content.
• Write a variety of corporate content including social media posts, company emails, scripts, talking points, articles, and other communications as needed.
• Help drive the planning, production, and publication of content for our internal and external digital channels, including multimedia assets (e.g. audio, video, graphics and animation).
• Cultivate relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams to create content that captivates audiences and communicates Ionis' mission, values, history, culture, and roadmap of scientific advancements.
• Track performance metrics including monitoring industry trends, audience insights, and analytics to optimize digital content performance and inform future strategies.
• Stay current of regulatory requirements and industry best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in digital communication, preferably in the biotech or healthcare industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a knack for storytelling and crafting compelling content.
• Demonstrated success in developing successful digital content that drives engagement and grows audiences.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms, content management systems, social listening, and digital analytics tools.
• Detail-oriented with strong project management and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative team player with exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and inspire others.
• Knowledge of emerging digital trends and technologies, with a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
• Ability to be in our downtown Boston office ~3 days a week and travel as needed

PREFFERED SKILLS:

• Experience in the healthcare or biopharmaceutical industry.
• Familiarity with social channel, intranet, and website management, SEO best practices, and analytics.
• Proficiency in graphic design software and video editing tools.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and ethical considerations in digital communication within the healthcare sector.
