Network Engineer: Become the Newest Member of the VF Family The Network Engineer candidate will be a leader who is willing to take initiative and is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of infrastructure involving a global network, unified communications (VoIP), datacenters, remote offices, and security areas. This position requires someone who has multifaceted skill sets and who will be leading/managing multiple projects. This person will need to be able to provide clear written/verbal communications to management and users. The senior network engineer will be a primary contributor in the architecture, design, implementation, and support of the global corporate network infrastructure to meet growth, service reliability requirements and problem management. How You Will Make a Difference: Serves as a mentor to junior level peers within and outside of the immediate team. Develop documentation using Markdown and develop Architectural Decision Records (ADRs) supporting a multi-discipline design and architecture of network infrastructure in the Data Center (Private Cloud) and supporting network topology diagrams. Perform on-going optimization of the network to ensure adequate capacity, availability, and scalability. Designs, builds, and supports IT infrastructure leveraging infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices and transitioning of pipelines to operations support teams. Present solutions and makes recommendations to departmental leadership. Research and evaluate emerging technology for future applications. Ability to troubleshoot simple or complex issues and utilize available reference material to resolve issues as quickly as possible. Contributes to technical design and evolution of infrastructure platforms and services. Support operational teams in development and deployment, using our automation and pipelines. Participates as a member of our Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) team to assist in the automated deployment of like infrastructure and security across our Public Cloud and Data Centers (Private Cloud). Supports Cyber Security Incident Response activities as necessary. Years of Related Professional Experience: 5 years of hands-on experience supporting midsize to large corporate networks, 2 years of experience designing, planning, and implementing all aspects of the network infrastructure, leveraging automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) where possible. Educational/ Position Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or other related field or equivalent work experience. Experience providing 3rd Level support for all aspects of the network. Preferred Network certification(s) such as CCIE, CCNP or equivalent experience. Experience with Cisco Routers/Switches/Firewalls, NetScalers, F5s, Checkpoint, ISE, Nexus, Infoblox appliances. Experience using CI/CD and automation tools such as GitLab, Jenkins is a plus. Automation experience utilizing Ansible and Terraform preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment. Strong relationship skills and collaborative style to enable success across multiple business partners with a focus on building partnerships. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Scripting capabilities in bash, PowerShell, python, considered a plus. Ability to multi-task, be a strong team player, and have organizational and time management skills. Strong knowledge of ITIL, SDLC, DevOps and agile processes and practices preferred. Experience following enterprise change and release management processes. Expert understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies (routing/switching, BGP, EIGRP, Spanning-Tree) and QoS experience required. Requires working knowledge of WAN topology and routing protocols. Requires working knowledge of SD-WAN technologies and implementation. Organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage simultaneous projects. Pay Range: $89,600.00 USD - $134,400.00 USD annually Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
