Position Overview:

The Product and Application Specialist is responsible for developing, administering, and executing the product/service strategy with the aim of increasing the sales and profitability of the EAF and BOF product portfolio. This position is responsible for supporting the refractory application and equipment aspects of the product lines.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage product development and identify continuous improvement opportunities for Vesuvius products in assigned region.
• Identify opportunities to innovate in equipment and grow market share.
• Contribute to develop product and application equipment marketing material.
• Actively support product troubleshooting and train Vesuvius commercial team.
• Manage the technical sales of assigned products while coordinating with account/sales teams.
• Monitor competitors' activities.
• Accompany sales team in development of new sales or support in technical conversations/projects.

Deliverables

• Support sales each time that M&T can bring value to discussions
• New product and equipment launch (Training and marketing)
• Train the sales and customer team on product application
• Develop equipment proposals based on customer application
• Monitor competitor prices and activities

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Engineering required - Materials science preferred.
• Experience within steelmaking, melt shop operations, or refractory technical service into the melt shop are a plus.

• Project and product management experience

• Refractory selection and application knowledge.

• Electric Arc Furnace refractory application equipment knowledge is a plus.

• Our ideal candidate will be customer oriented and bring problem solving skills.

This position will report to the Product Manager - Melting and Refining in Advanced Refractories. This position will require 50-75% of travel. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, education and location.
