OVERVIEW

Vertex is currently accepting applications for full-time Heavy Duty Mechanic located in Westhope, ND. The successful candidate will provide maintenance for Vertex’s equipment. This position will work with semi-trucks and trailers.

Position Title: Heavy Duty Mechanic

Position Location: Westhope, ND

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

• Heavy Duty Mechanic schooling
• 2-6 years’ experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic, preferably with semi-truck and trailer experience (hydraulic repairs and diesel engine repair)
• Valid driver's license with a clean drivers’ abstract
• Ability to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner
• Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity
• Current and up to date first-aid and H2S alive safety certificates is an asset
• A valid Class A CDL drivers’ license is considered an asset

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections, on heavy truck and trailer equipment, in the shop and in the field.

  • Drive Train
  • Wiring and light problems,
  • Electrical diagnostics,
  • Air system,
  • Wheels,
  • Brakes,
  • Clutches,
  • and steering components etc.

• Complete required documentation and reporting for inspections and repairs
• Prepare work orders/cost estimates for service approval
• Conduct all job responsibilities in accordance with Vertex HSE standards, guidelines, and rules
