POSITION SUMMARY:

Centralized Insurance Coordinator will prepare copay estimates and review insurance benefits with patients. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

Coordinate with insurance providers to verify dental coverage and determine patient co-pays and out of pocket expenses

Ensures coordination of benefits are accurate and considered as part of the financial planning.

Provide cost estimates and discuss payment options with patients

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of treatment plans, financial agreements, and patient communications

Knowledge of dental coding

Communicate any changes or updates to the treatment plan to the appropriate staff members

Audit patient accounts

Serves as a liaison between insurance carriers, staff and patients to resolve any concerns and maintain a positive working relationship

Ensures all insurance related duties are completed in a timely and accurate manner to ensure excellent patient relations and financial success for the Practice

Respond efficiently to patient needs and inquiries

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Requirements:

Two plus years preparing copay estimates, claim resolution, and insurance verification

Accounts receivable experience

Positive attitude with focus on positive patient experience

Exceptional organization and communication skills

Bookkeeping skills; basic knowledge of accounting

Excellent organization skills and strong attention to detail

Multi-tasker with the ability to prioritize work accordingly

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work autonomously under the pressure of tight deadlines and multiple priorities

Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook

A Plus If You Also Have (preferred, but not required):

Prior experience using dental software including Open Dental
