What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a highly motivated, knowledgeable, and versatile individual to join our engineering staff. This role will focus on managing and completing load ratings projects for our bridge owner clients. Tasks will include planning and implementation of load rating/testing/evaluation projects, coordination with clients, interpretation of data (client provided and field measurements), code-based calculations, creation and QC/QA of AASHTOware BrR models and results, report writing, and submittal management. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a growth-oriented professional consulting group where you will work with other senior technical staff on load rating projects, as well as various structural evaluation projects.

What You’ll Do:

Management Tasks

  • Planning of load rating projects, working as Project Manager on project coordination, planning, and logistics
  • Manage a team of engineers to meet or exceed client expectations and deadlines, primarily focused on load rating projects.
  • When not working on load rating projects, assist with the planning, development, and management of project tasks such as instrumentation plans and testing documents to meet overall project requirements and scope, data processing and interpretation, and structural evaluation of various tested/monitored structures.

Engineering Tasks

  • Development of AASHTOWare BrR models meeting client specifications
  • Use of various design codes in computing structural capacities
  • QC/QA of AASHTOWare BrR models developed by other engineering staff
  • Review and interpret project data so that conclusions can be drawn and reported to our clients
  • Development and QC/QA of load rating reports, models and other documentation required for submittal
  • Updating internal documentation upon project completion and provide lessons learned to team
  • In addition to AASHTOWare BrR based projects, creation and calibration of finite element models for field-verified load ratings.

What You Need to Be Successful:

  • Hands-on experience with load rating projects, both in implementation and management
  • Expertise with AASHTOWare BrR software and exposure to other software and programming (MATLAB, Python, VBA, among others)
  • Proficient experience and understanding of AASHTO design codes, rating manuals, and other guidance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills that can address multiple audiences
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of structural mechanics
  • Additional experience in the construction industry or with finite element modeling

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Graduate degree preferred)
  • 6-8 years AASHTOware based load rating engineering experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (CO/PA PE preferred or willingness to get within first 3-6 months of employment)

Starting Salary Range: $80,000 - $140,000 per year (Based on Qualifications)
