SCM Project Business Partner

Role Overview: SCM Project Business Partners are accountable for ensuring the procurement of goods, materials, construction contracts, and ancillary services are planned and delivered at a competitive cost, within agreed timelines, and in accordance with project priorities. They serve as the primary point of contact for the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Primary Contact: Act as the main point of contact for project/program/development teams regarding SCM support.
• Representation: Represent SCM at project team meetings.
• Engagement: Engage SCM functional staff (Category Management, Project Buyers, Contract Specialists/Administrators, Logistics, Expediting) to assist in the development of key deliverables, including the Project Management Plan (PMP), SCM supply plan, and contracting plan.
• Development: Develop the SCM component of the PMP and the SCM supply plan and contracting plan.
• Monitoring: Monitor actual performance against the SCM supply plan and contracting plan, addressing any issues or concerns.
• Facilitation: Facilitate approval of Contract Development Plans (CDP) & Contract Award Recommendations (CAR).
• Reporting: Provide input into SCM progress reports and support value creation activities.
• Coordination: Coordinate stage gate reviews and SCM participation in project lessons learned sessions.
• Execution: Ensure timely execution of services and delivery of materials and documentation.

Scope/Dimensions:

• Oversees projects ranging up to $100 MM per annum.
• Works under the guidance and direction of the SCM Manager.

Contacts (Working Relationships):

• Collaborates with all SCM teams (SSC buyers, logistics & expediting/category management).
• Engages with Project/Programs/Development teams, Project engineers, and SCM Managers.
• Prepares information for presentation to Manager and Directors.

Reporting Relationships:

• Direct Reports: None
• Indirect Reports: Coordinates efforts across all SCM teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Dotted Line Reports: None

Essential Qualifications:

• Minimum of B.S. or equivalent in Supply Chain or a relevant engineering, legal, or business discipline.
• Ability to foster effective teamwork and collaboration.
• Ability to develop wide and diverse networks.
• Effective communication and influencing skills with third parties such as suppliers, governmental organizations, and partners.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Approximately 7 years of related project, commercial, or technical business experience in the Oil & Gas or related industry.

• Enrollment in Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP)/Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) programs is beneficial.

• Solid understanding of leading supply chain techniques, including total cost ownership principles, category management, and strategic sourcing models, and supplier qualification methodology.
• Superior negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and cost modeling experience.
• Excellent facilitation and project management skills.
• Previous expediting experience.
• Proficient in software and computer skills, Ariba or equivalent experience, and SharePoint experience is an asset.
