Job Title: Technical Project Manager

Full-Time 40 Hours/Week

Classification: exempt under FLSA

Location: 100% Remote

CleanChoice Energy, a national renewable energy company that empowers people and businesses to cut emissions and live cleaner, healthier lives, is seeking a Technical Project Manager to join the Data Engineering department. This is a unique opportunity to join a mission driven organization transforming the U.S. electricity market by switching homes and businesses to 100% clean, pollution-free energy.

Job Description 

This role will be focused on data engineering project management and agile coaching. We are looking for someone highly skilled with expertise in data engineering. In this role, you will be a team lynchpin responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and execution of data engineering projects while ensuring adherence to timelines, budget, and quality standards. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders. This person will report to the Director, Agile Product Delivery and will not have direct reports. 

Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of data engineering projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders, to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables.
  • Conduct regular project meetings, and agile scrum ceremonies, facilitate discussions, and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Triage a continuous backlog of business requests, and prioritize via Kanban methodology. 
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation plans to manage project timelines and resources effectively.
  • Monitor and report progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop monitoring and support processes for standard operating procedures to improve the reliability of the data engineering platform
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to communicate project status updates, milestones, and dependencies.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practices, processes, and methodologies for project management and data engineering.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • 3-5 Years experience in a related field, preferably working as a business analyst or project manager for a data-oriented team.
  • Competency in data engineering, and familiarity with common data tools, and technologies, including data warehousing, ETL processes, data modeling, and database management systems.
  • Working knowledge of ERDs/UML process maps to model data flows.
  • Proficiency in agile project management methodologies such as Scrum, & Kanban.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams toward project goals.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other relevant certifications are preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (CS, IT, MIS)

This position offers compensation commensurate with experience and skills and a robust benefits package.
