Provides alcohol & drug testing. Assists clinical & clerical staff to facilitate flow of patients & health information for customers' medical records.
Supports nursing and medical staff in the admission, treatment & discharge of patients.
Responsible for training of clinic staff in collection of specimens for drug tests and collection.
Troubleshoots problems with technical equipment.
Required Job Specific Competencies:
Demonstrates skill in AED, Breath Alcohol technician, audiogram and spirometry calibration and test administration, ECG, DOT and non-DOT urine drug collection.
Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology.
Demonstrates the ability to work independently and exhibits flexibility in decision making and prioritizing assignments.
Demonstrates the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with patients, providers, associates & corporate customers.
Actively guards the confidentiality of sensitive information including but not limited to the patients, staff and the health system.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient.
Qualifications:
CPR Certification
High School diploma or GED required
Minimum of two years of experience in an outpatient clinic, physician office or emergency department preferred.
Knows spelling and use of medical terminology
Must possess excellent patient/public relations and communication skills
Proficient in data entry
