University of New Hampshire is Hiring a 4-H Program Manager, Cheshire County Near Durham, NH
Summary Of PositionThis position is located at Extension’s Cheshire County office in Keene, N.H. The 4-H program manager will facilitate growth of the county 4-H program and life-skill development of 4-H youth through recruitment, training, support and guidance of volunteers in a community-based, youth organization. 4-H, the nation’s largest youth development organization, works in local communities to offer youth in-person and online programming through clubs, collaborative community partnerships, after-school programs, camps, and other educational activities. N.H. 4-H programs are designed around a “pathway” model based on national 4-H mission areas of STEM /Agriscience, Civic Engagement and Healthy Living. 4-H Pathways are designed to engage youth in a sequential learning experience, enabling youth to build mastery of skill and knowledge as well as a sense of belonging to their community and world. As part of a county Extension team, in the future this position may also be appointed to serve as the county office administrator, which would be a 20% appointment with a stipend (programmatic workload would be reduced to accommodate this appointment). Additional Job InformationThis position will have occasional night and weekend programmatic responsibilities over the course of each month. Applications received by Monday, April 1 by 5 PM will be given priority review. Other Minimum QualificationsMinimum Acceptable Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and two years of experience in work related to administering educational programs.
Valid N.H. driver’s license and be willing to travel locally for work. Mileage will be reimbursed at the current federal rate.
Effective human relations and communication skills
Computer skills
Ability to reflect thoughtfully on personal bias to be welcoming to all potential participants and volunteers
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing and managing volunteers
Experience managing youth development programs
Experience with 4-H and/or other Cooperative Extension programming
Competence with social media
Experience working with diverse, vulnerable, or underserved populations
