Associate Director, Master of Science in Finance Program - McDonough School of Business - Georgetown University
The Master of Science in Finance (MSF) online is the first technology-intensive program at Georgetown's McDonough School of Business (MSB). The administrative team is small but growing to accommodate the significant growth in the program's enrollment. We have an open and highly collegial work environment committed to solving problems and continual innovation.
Job Overview
The Associate Director works with a wide variety of colleagues in managing the program's delivery with a special focus on managing the MSF program office - and other future programs overseen by the Senior Associate Dean.
The Associate Director has responsibilities such as project management, event management, schedule coordination, and program delivery both onsite at Georgetown and offsite - including international locations.
Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinate with administrators, faculty members, external vendors, partners, alumni, stakeholders, and students while working closely with the Assistant Director for Student Services on the management of student communications.
  • Support the Director of Operations on a variety of logistical tasks. The MSF program is a blended online (i.e., online and on-campus program) where students can attend the weekly MSFLive classes in person or online and receive the same educational experience in our revolutionary Blended Classroom. These live classes take place on weekday afternoons and evenings and the Associate Director supports these classes as an MSFLive producer (as part of a team of producers who split up the schedule).
  • Work occasionally work at other weekday evening or weekend events - for example, orientation, the Financial Markets Residency, the Global Consulting Project (GCP) course, and admissions-related events.
Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
Reporting directly to the Senior Associate Dean for the MSF program, the Associate Director receives little supervision for many of their responsibilities.
They collaborate and interact with faculty members, external vendors, partners, alumni, stakeholders, and students to ensure MSF's mission, goals, and objectives are carried out effectively.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 to 5 years of business experience in program or event management - preference for 2 to 3 years of those years in higher education with high-level student/faculty interactions
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and networking skills
  • Creativity in providing value-add solutions with the parameters of the budget
  • Critical ability to multi-tasks, prioritize and execute
  • Critical eye for detail
  • Ability to build relationships with students, peers, and key MSB stakeholders
  • Confidence to take initiative, ask questions, and make recommendations with the end goal being process improvement and student satisfaction
  • Genuine desire to understand and engage with international cultures
  • Outstanding organizational abilities
  • Independent decision-making and the ability to act under pressure
  • Availability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in higher education with high-level student/faculty interactions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent projects
