Preferred QualificationsJob Description SummaryThe University of South Alabama’s Financial Aid department is seeking to hire two Financial Aid Officer I’s. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential FunctionsWorks with the Senior Associate Director to develop programming, presentations, print materials and social media postings regarding financial literacy events and campaigns to ensure compliance with federal and SACs accreditation requirements; develops innovative communication strategies for students regarding FAFSA completion, verification, loan requirements, etc. to promote awareness of requirements and deadlines; serves as contact for partners within the University and also with outside organizations who are needing financial literacy and/or financial aid speakers or other resources; processes private student loan certifications; oversees the processing of ANGEAP certification requests; works with Financial Aid Assistant and also with the Officer of Veterans Affairs to assure compliance with state and federal guidelines; works to develop outreach for students who are close to losing eligibility due to not meeting satisfactory academic progress standards for potential resources; collaborates with Student Academic Success; assists students and families in the financial aid application process; assists with determining student federal aid edibility; represents the office at various events (financial literacy, new student orientations, USA Days, etc.); regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required; related duties as required.
