Position Summary:
Our Operations Director supports the mission and vision of Nexus Family Healing by providing oversight, direction, and supervision to assigned services and programs to ensure the achievement of positive fiscal, quality care, and mission outcomes. This role will ensure compliance with organization and agency policy, federal and state laws, licensing requirements, accreditation standards and generally accepted practices.
Primary responsibilities:
Oversight of program fiscal control, accountability, and fostering strong community relations
  • Partners closely with other agency leadership to help build and promote and emulate organizational values, growth, and sustainability
  • Maintains a hands-on involvement in the day-to-day clinical and operations of assigned programs and assists the Executive Director in oversight and execution of all projects related to programs
  • Participates and contributes to the budget development process and assumes responsibility for aligning work performed with the agency and program budgets
  • Manages staff resources and program revenues effectively and efficiently
  • Provides leadership and direct involvement in the growth and development of new programs and requests for proposals
  • Supports the agency in the larger social work community and when assigned, serves as a liaison to community boards, programs and advisory committees that may generate support for programs and services
  • Formulates long-range strategic plans for assigned programs in response to anticipated economic, technological, or marketing trends; modifies the programs strategic plan based on unforeseen situations such as changes in resources, technology, or policies and communicates these changes to leadership
  • Represents assigned services in the absence of the Executive Director; manages internal and external challenges, opportunities, and inquiries
Evaluation of services & Nexus treatment philosophies
  • Maintains responsibility for the program's quality improvement (e.g., Referral Agent Satisfaction Surveys, Exit Interviews, and Quality Management Program) processes and procedures
  • Remains current on all contract requirements, accreditation, and licensing standards; provides direction and support to program staff on interpretation of standards, requirements, and expectations
  • Reviews contracts related to assigned service's business agreements; ensures operational processes and procedures are in place and communicated to staff to meet contractual obligations
  • Upholds and ensures compliance of utilization of service, electronic health record systems
  • Provides oversight to the utilization review process ensuring proper documentation of services rendered; monitors the effectiveness of services provided, and the receipt of medical necessity as applicable
Clinical and Operational Leadership & Management
  • Provides oversight on workforce decisions regarding services and program to include employee structure, engagement, and staff development
  • Ensures the environment of care is maintained with regard to the safety of clients and staff; oversees the efficient management of projects
  • Oversees the ongoing maintenance, sustainability, and development of information systems
  • Develops and supports internal systems to ensure an ethical, collaborative, and safe work environment
  • Provides oversite and direction of the clinical and treatment aspects of assigned programs to ensure that Nexus' treatment philosophies and foundational trainings are implemented consistently across services
  • Collaborates directly with Nexus Clinical department to partner around strategic initiatives to ensure a quality client experience
  • Provides clinical direction to program staff and provides direct supervision of clinical or program staff as needed to maintain proper caseloads
Development & enhancement of programs and services
  • Creates and ensures a positive bridge between program staff and administrative support departments to ensure policies and needs of each program are working collaboratively to meet the mission and budgetary goals of the agency
  • Maintains responsibility for the development and monitoring of referrals and intakes and provides the oversight of the ongoing treatment maintenance process and the conclusion of services
  • Ensures that a quality training program is developed, maintained, and implemented according to service standards, organizational and agency policy accrediting bodies, state, and federal guidelines
Participates in and supports the ongoing selection, evaluation, and development of staff
  • Participates in the recruitment, interviewing and selection of program staff, consistent with organization and agency policies and guidelines
  • Supervises assigned staff, establishes performance standards, and ensures all performance evaluations are completed in accordance with Nexus standards
  • Provides consultation and assistance as needed to ensure appropriate coaching and development of staff; provides regular, meaningful performance feedback to employees.
Strategic Plan Implementation, communication & alignment
  • Ensures quality improvement, risk management, and policy development committees are operational and productive to meet the programs and agencies short- and long-term goals and objectives
  • Attends all leadership, administrative, and committee meetings; positively represents the agency, and supports the Nexus philosophy, treatment modalities and the agency's goals and initiatives
Job location, pay, schedule:
  • On-site opportunity in Mendota Heights, MN
  • Salaried, exempt position
  • $90,000-100,000 salary per year
  • Monday - Friday schedule
Required Education and Licensure:
  • Master's degree required, preferably in a human service or clinical related field
  • Licensed with LICSW
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in service delivery of related programs and/or services
  • Minimum of 3-year supervisory experience required
  • Valid driver's license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • 5 years' experience in service delivery of like programs
  • 3 years supervisory and leadership experience

Expected Hours of Work:
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with the expectation to work specific schedules and hours as identified and communicated by management. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
