| Duties/Responsibilities | Conduct research in lab - The incumbent will carry out research on the molecular basis of plant-nematode interactions. He/she will conduct research to identify nematodes genes important for parasitism and overcoming host plant resistance, as well as characterize the host target genes essential for compatibility and resistance. The incumbent will handle and analyze genomic and/or transcriptomic datasets, clone candidate plant and nematode genes, and use a variety of molecular and genetic approaches to characterize the function of these genes in nematode parasitism in both crop and model plant systems. |

| Duties/Responsibilities | Care for plants and/or pathogen cultures - The incumbent will care for plants and/or pathogen cultures required for executing research experiments. This will involve planting, watering, and harvesting of seed and/or propagating the necessary nematode cultures. |
