| Position Summary | The Operations Specialist position within Asset Management provides support to campus in the re-utilization and/or disposal of surplus assets throughout UGA. This position would meet with clients to provide expert knowledge of surplus and Asset Management procedures and be a liaison between UGA and Georgia DOAS. |
| Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies | Have good communication skills, written and oral. Familiarity with UGA's Athens campus (location of buildings, roads, etc.). This position involves independent decision making. |
| Physical Demands | Walk campus, climb stairs, and lift and move moderately heavy items. Involves work outside, in a warehouse and office settings. Driving to perform job related duties. |

| Duties/Responsibilities | Meet with surplus clients to effectively and efficiently prepare assets for the appropriate reutilization/disposal method. Provide a knowledgeable and high level of service to customers (internal and external) for all types of surplus transactions . Ensure the efficient and proper reutilization and/or disposal method of UGA assets based on UGA, state & federal policies. Receive, reconcile, and organize surplus property at the UGA Surplus Warehouse. Assist the Surplus Property Manager in surplus related projects at UGA. |
