Position Summary

Clinical Assistant Professor/Clinical Associate Professor/Clinical Professor of Nutritional Sciences (75% Teaching and 25% Administration), full-time, 12-month fiscal year appointment in the Department of Nutritional Sciences in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences https://www.fcs.uga.edu.

The individual will:

* Teach undergraduate and graduate in-residence and online courses in applied nutrition, including clinical and community nutrition.

* S/he will direct and grow the online Master of Science program in Community Nutrition, and provide leadership for effectively managing all aspects of the program including:

* Lead the recruitment, evaluation, and advising efforts for the program

* Expand online program offerings within the Nutritional Sciences department that meet the needs of prospective students and the profession

* Maintain approval for the program curriculum and oversee the online course reviews and revisions with the Office of Online Learning and faculty

* Supervise and mentor students enrolled in the online MS program, track student progress, and coordinate efforts for student remediation and retention

* Collaborate within UGA and pivotal organizations and networks in the discipline and build on strengths of the program to meet enrollment goals established by the department and college

* Contribute to activities that serve the department, college, university, the public, and the profession

This position will also contribute to activities that serve the department, college, university, public and the profession.

Additional Requirements

* To be considered for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor, the applicant must hold an earned doctoral degree (upon appointment) in nutrition or a related field.

* To be considered for the position of Clinical Associate Professor, the applicant must meet the above qualifications and have at least 5 years at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. For initial appointment to the Clinical Associate Professor rank, comparable training, background, and experience may be considered.

* To be considered for the position of Clinical Professor, the applicant must meet the above qualifications and have at least 5 years at the rank of Clinical Associate Professor.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification

It is preferred that the applicant be credentialed as a registered dietitian nutritionist by the Commission on Dietetics; have at least 2 years at the rank of clinical instructor and/or comparable training and/or post-graduate experience in the area of nutritional sciences; and have two years of experience with effective online pedagogy and best practices in teaching and learning.
