Under the supervision of the LPN Program Director at Goodwin University, the individual is responsible for teaching didactic and clinical courses. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to teach across the curriculum with a preference for any area of specialization in a related field. In addition to teaching, the faculty member is expected to:

  • Pursue scholarly activities
  • Participate in school, University, and Community Service
  • Assist in advising students, curriculum development, and program evaluation associated with a full-time faculty position
  • Participate in:
    • Commencement and pinning activities as well as special university meetings
    • Other university and community service activities that are consistent with the mission

We are looking for part-time or full-time candidates for our Bridgeport, CTlocation. The candidate would be a Goodwin employee expected to work in Bridgeport, CT.

This program will be offered in the evenings starting Summer 2024. 

Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach the didactic content of the LPN Program 
  • Facilitate clinical experience in clinical settings
  • Facilitate the clinical experience in the laboratory
  • Review and provide weekly feedback to students about their clinical performance and paperwork
  • Collaborate with faculty to provide consistent and relevant student learning experiences to meet the course and clinical learning outcomes 
  • Complete a midterm and final evaluation for each student 
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed

Other Functions

  • Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates
  • Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends
  • Participates in departmental and University committees and contributes to student retention
  • Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort

  • Ability to work evenings & weekends 

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Nursing & enrolled in Masters’ Degree of Nursing program required
  • Masters’ Degree in Nursing completed preferred
  • Current and active RN License in the state of Connecticut (or eligible)
  • At least three years’ experience as a practicing registered nurse
  • Minimum of two years’ experience teaching adult learners
  • Experience in program and curriculum development preferred
