The Medical Technologist Laboratory Scientist (MT/MLS) is responsible for working within the established guidelines of the Laboratory Department as assigned. As a professional, the MT/MLS is responsible for carrying out the philosophy and objectives established by the Board of Directors and the Management Team. Foremost among these responsibilities are strictly adhering to detail in the technical performance of laboratory procedures, solving practical and analytical problems, resolving conflict, and implementing constructive change.

ResponsibilitiesThe MT/MLS is responsible for providing timely and effective services to all customers of the Laboratory, assuring that the professional and technical process is carried out. Customers include all age groups of patients, from neonates to geriatrics.
QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in related field or graduate of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist program. Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or categorical ASCP certification in a laboratory specialty/subspecialty as applicable to job responsibilities. Must be MT or MLS (ASCP) certified or eligible.
