Unity Bank is Hiring a Loan Associate II Near Clinton, NJ

Position Summary: Responsible for performing various tasks associated with the servicing of the Commercial, Consumer and SBA loans. This includes the servicing from the time the loan is boarded on the servicing system thorough the payoff and collateral release phase. Cross train on the various processes in servicing the loan and be able to provide backup support as needed.
Essential Functions
  • Boards and reviews new loans to the Fiserv loan servicing system to ensure data integrity.
  • Records collateral liens for the Consumer Loans product.
  • Complete loan administrative tasks including creating payoff letters, completing mortgage satisfactions, filing, and performing loan file maintenance as requested.
  • Perform variety of loan transactions including payments, payoffs, loan disbursements, transfers, etc.
  • Release liens upon the closing of a loan.
  • Processes approved loan deferments and modifications.
  • Prepare and perform changes to loan rate indices on the servicing system.
  • Processes approved requests to place accounts in non-accrual and or charge off status.
  • Track initial escrows for mortgage loans and remit funds to Loan Care.
  • Maintain documentation and prepare reports for participated loans and/or loans serviced for third parties.
  • Provides backup to the Escrow team in escrow analysis and disbursements.
  • Prepares collateral files for residential loans.
  • Address inquiries and research requests from customers and internal staff and follow through on appropriate resolutions.
  • Scans and index files into Fiserv Director.
  • Reviews credit file images to ensure all pertinent documents have been scanned and indexed accurately.
  • Reviews documents in active loan files to ensure all pertinent collateral information is accurately reflected in Navigator.
  • Manages the review and monitoring of tracked insurance, including Hazard Builders Risk, Hazard and Flood Insurance by working with third party vendor, contacting insurance agents and customers to obtain up-to-date insurance as necessary.

  • Assist in training new employees
  • Assist the loan servicing team with special projects
  • Provides backup to other team members as needed
  • Assist management with providing internal and external auditors, with gathering files and additional documentation as requested
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in a financial institution.
  • Experience with lending and loan servicing functions of the bank.
  • 3 - 5 years' experience of loan products and services.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent computer skills in a MS Word Suite.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret legal documents, governmental regulations, and professional publications.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from senior management, attorneys, vendors, government agents, and the general public.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to speak and write clearly to effectively convey information so that others understand and as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Ability to work independently.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Working Conditions
  • Moderate sound as in business office with office machines, computers, and people traffic.
