We have flexible scheduling at 1, 2, 3, or 5 days a week. We have locations in South San Francisco, Hayward, Fremont, San Jose, and others.Mileage will be reimbursed for instructors that travel to multiple sites. This will cover a 6 week cohort. Skills lab is every Friday for first 4 weeks.Clinicals are weeks 4, 5, and 6.Opportunity to become state certified tester through D&S Headmaster.Students tuition is 100% paid through Leading Age of California's Gateway In Project Grant.Be a part of the change! Call to Action in the state of California to help change these communities through healthcare education.3-year grant participation to expand Nursing Assistants in CaliforniaChanging underserved communities and student populations by providing training, wrap-around supports and incentives for career development for those entering or already in the field, the program will make significant headway in turning the tides on the ongoing workforce shortage crisis pervading the health care workforce that supports older adults across the state.Please see this link for additional information: https://www.leadingageca.org/Resources/Workforce/The-Gateway-In-Project Teach skills- lab and clinical rotations at a variety of times and locations in responds to program needsEnsure students are practice ready and meeting all state regulations for certification prior to end of programMake continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies / techniques in teachingContinually seek out educational opportunities for students in the clinical setting that will enhance their learning experienceAssists with updating and maintaining student files as relates to clinical requirements, immunizations, and educational requirements.Regularly evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving curriculum and course objectivesProvide daily feedback to students in real time and post clinical conferencesProvide access to students for ongoing communication through scheduling office hour, electronic communication, and other appropriate methodsMaintain student records of attendance, grades, and assist with program data collection, and skills check lists as required by state regulationsParticipate in schedule meetings with theory instructor and program director regarding student progressMake continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies / techniques in teachingDemonstrate or willing to acquire skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content/material during interactive teaching and learningKeep current with new technologies and safety regulationsAssists with updating and maintaining student files as relates to clinical requirements, immunizations, and educational requirementsParticipate in professional development; maintain CE hours to ensure renewed licensure, takes responsibility for staying current with college updateSubmit required program reports and forms to Program Director in a timely mannerOther duties as assigned by the Program DirectorPay Range: $40-$45/hr DOEQualificationsRegistered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current licensure and at least 2 years of nursing experience as a licensed vocational nurse or registered nurse.One of the two years should be in providing care and services to chronically ill or elderly patients in an Acute Care Hospital, skilled nursing facility, intermediate care facility, home care, hospice care, or other long-term care setting. Must be verifiable.Experience which demonstrates: Current knowledge of nursing practice; ability to mentor students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings; ability to work independently without close supervision; broad knowledge of nursing sciences; successful handling of day-to-day operations in the nursing assistant skills lab; proficient, strong communications skills verbal and written; current knowledge/experience in clinical setting.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and other MS office products as needed.Current state required immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification.Successful completion of State Board training (if required)Additional InformationFor Full Time Employees, We Offer:Medical, Dental and Vision starting the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment2 Weeks’ starting Vacation per year.
