Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community and have a desire and ability to work with a diverse population. This is a part-time position with no benefits.

The Division of Health Sciences is developing an associate degree program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS). We are looking for an individual credentialed in Diagnostic Medical Sonography to develop the syllabi, curriculum, and program. This experienced sonographer will serve as an advisor to the dean and others for program development. This sonographer will support this new program through the college governance process, the state approvals and national accreditation. There may be a future opportunity for this individual to join the DMS faculty in a full-time capacity (pending continued funding).

The program and curriculum development work is scheduled to occur over fall 2023 and spring 2024 and be completed in spring 2024. The program should be scheduled to start the governance process in spring/fall 2024.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

* Develop a competitive curriculum for this new program;

* Develop comprehensive syllabi for each DMS course;

* Base course and curriculum development for the program on employer needs, industry-standards and accreditation requirements;

* Build out/develop the program and program timeline, including labs and clinicals for each semester of the program;

* Establish partnerships (advisory and clinical) for future clinical placements, as required by accreditation;

* Be an advisor to the Dean as the new DMS labs being built developed on the new Framingham Campus;

* Meet regularly with the Dean and others, as required for program updates. Meet with those who have interest in the program, as needed;

* Produce reports, discuss and make equipment recommendations, as needed;

* Bring the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program to life.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business Administration, Marketing, Education Administration, or other field related to area of assignment; with three (3) years experience and/or training involving area of assignment, which may include business management, program/project management, grant administration, budget development, community relations, curriculum development, education, counseling, substance abuse, non-traditional student services, or public assistance programs; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action and workforce diversity;

* Experience working in a diverse environment;

* Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved students;

* 3 or more years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the field of sonography;

* Must be registered and maintain current certifications in Abdomen and OB and Vascular;

* Experience with multiple teaching modalities including online delivery;

* Must be organized, able to meet deadlines, and have excellent interpersonal and written skills;

* Experience in instruction & educational theories, and techniques;

* Curriculum and program development experience;

* Positive connections with healthcare facilities in the MA and surrounding areas to aid in providing clinical opportunities and partnerships.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $50 per hour

Position Type: MCCC-Professional Part-Time Grade 5
