Bring your skills and talents to a role where you'll have a chance to make an impact. This is a telecommute position, however, you will be required to come into the Sugarland office periodically. The Clinical Administration Coordinator must reside within a commutable distance to Sugarland, TX. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00AM-5:00PM.

This is high volume, customer service environment. You'll need to be efficient, productive, and thorough dealing with our members over the phone. You also must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evening hours.

If you are located in Sugar Land, TX, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage administrative intake of members
  • Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and/or providers
  • Process incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations, including intake, notification and census roles
  • Assist the clinical staff with setting up documents/triage cases for Clinical Coverage Review
  • Handle resolution/inquiries from members and/or providers

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher) OR 3 years experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
  • 2 years of customer service experience
  • 2 years of clerical or administrative support background
  • Basic computer proficiency to include MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Reside within a commutable distance to Sugar Land, TX
  • Access to a designated quiet workspace in your home (separated from non-workspace areas) and is able to secure all company sensitive documents secure including Protected Health Information (PHI) 
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance. Candidates must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
  • Experience working in a hospital, physician's office, or medical clinic setting
  • Experience working in a call center
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes
