Position Summary:
The Accounts Receivable Representative is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of health insurance claims with various insurance companies.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Research authorizations, work with providers, and manage pended claims promptly.
- Maintain a solid balance of health insurance claims that are 35 average days outstanding.
- Identify non-payment trends or procedural roadblocks and report same to Supervisor as needed.
- Prepare special claim projects; maintain project work/communication logs.
- Use resources effectively, arrange information and files in a useful manner, and meet project deadlines.
- Compose and prepare documentation for appeals.
- Process insurance carrier correspondence in a timely and professional manner.
- Keep current on carrier(s) website information that relates to the practice.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of Medical Billing and insurance claim filing experience.
- Familiarity with medical billing software.
