JOB SUMMARY:
(Spanish/English) Translator is responsible for using their knowledge of two or more languages and cultural meanings to translate texts from one language to another. Their duties include consulting with department experts to determine meanings, completing translations within set deadlines and using Microsoft Office with special features to aid their progress. In addition, the Translator will work with leadership to translate for core team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate effective communication between two parties that do not speak a similar language by converting one spoken or written language to another.
Attend conferences and meetings and act as official translator to mediate discussion.
Translate foreign languages for leadership team and affiliates so they can understand dialogue.
Relay concepts and ideas between languages.
Convert written materials from one language into another, such as policies, procedures, or web pages, etc.
Create a new text in the target language that reproduces the content and style of the original.
Edit and proofread text to accurately reflect language.
Receive and submit assignments electronically.
Use dictionaries and glossaries for reference.
Employ computer-assisted translation.
Facilitate communication for people with limited English/Spanish proficiency.
Translate languages at meetings such as attorney-client meetings, union meetings, all employee meetings, etc.
Read aloud documents in a language other than that in which they were written.
Provide language services to all company affiliate.
Translate materials and informational brochures into another language.
Accompany core/support team and facilitate communication between parties.
Adapt a product or service for use in a different language and culture.
Displays a positive attitude towards safety, works safely and follows all the Company's safety policies and procedures.
Complies with all Health, Safety and Environmental standards in accordance with company policies, the Occupational Health & Safety Act. and the Michigan Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Ensures all employees and visitors have a safe environment in that safety and housekeeping standards are maintained; and all hazards, unsafe actions, or unsafe conditions have been identified, corrected, and/or eliminated.
Responds to and investigates all reports of injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses and property damage immediately.
Takes an active part in the division’s safety program by performing regular workplace inspections, effectively investigates accidents/incidents promptly, and assists in meeting or exceeding the division’s safety goals.
Complete other duties as assigned.

Work performed in a manufacturing plant/Office environment. Frequently exposed to varying temperature within plant depending upon external weather condition. Continuously walks, stands, and lifts and carries up to thirty (20) lbs. within the manufacturing plant/Office environment. Must be available to work overtime including weekends and holidays.
