United Pacific is Hiring a Director of Retail Finance and Analytics Near Long Beach, CA

The Director of Retail Finance and Analytics leader to join our team. This pivotal role reports directly to the President of Retail and is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of our retail analytics and financial planning strategies. The Director will play a crucial role in enhancing our operational efficiency, financial performance, and insights through data-driven analytics as well as partner with others departmental leaders to drive overall profitability. The Director will bring a strategic vision to identify opportunities for growth, optimize retail operations, and contribute to the overall success of Rocket Convenience Stores.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Develop and manage detailed budgets for Retail Operations, aligning with organizational goals and tracking budgetary performance through KPIs.

Utilize Power BI comprehensively for data visualization, reporting, analytical insights, management presentation development to report on weekly, monthly and quarterly KPI’s.

Conduct in-depth analyses to identify productivity and cost-saving opportunities, providing market insights and strategic recommendations based on data analysis.

Utilize forecasting models to drive informed decision-making and strategic thinking to support organizational goals and objectives.

Work with accounting, marketing, and operations on period close, and review and report on overall Retail financial performance. Provide management with a monthly performance recap on financial results highlighting opportunities to drive growth and recommendations to mitigate risks.

Establish and streamline data collection processes for accuracy and reliability, benchmarking financial and operational data against industry competition and market trends.

Work with retail marketing team and provide analytical support on category analysis, financial reporting, itemization strategy, emerging trends and understand evolving analytical requirements.

Incorporate new data sources and technologies to enhance analytical capabilities, comparing financial results against budgets, prior years, and industry benchmarks.

Develop financial models and conduct due diligence for potential mergers and acquisitions, engaging in data room activities for transaction accuracy.

Use analytical tools to identify and implement process automation within the FP&A function to enhance reporting functionality and streamline processes.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field | MBA preferred.

Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in retail analytics or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, including FP&A experience

Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills.

Proficient in extracting and interpreting data for decision-making.

Experience in statistical analysis, financial modeling, and data visualization tools.

Advanced knowledge of analytical software and tools including Power BI.

Experience with big data technologies and machine learning algorithms is a plus.

Deep understanding of the retail industry, including operations, customer behavior, market trends, and financial metrics.

Convenience store experience is highly desirable.

Strong leadership abilities, with a proven track record of developing high-performing teams.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to a non-technical audience.

Strategic mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, forecast trends, and develop long-term plans to achieve business goals.

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Proven ability to influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.

Use analytical tools to assess the financial impact of corporate transactions.

Identify opportunities for process automation within the FP&A function.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $160,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
