Job Purpose:
The Program Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day continuity of Bolder Advocacy program operations. This individual is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective coordination of logistics for Bolder Advocacy’s core programmatic services (trainings, technical assistance, and resources). This includes providing exceptional customer service for AFJ members, partners, and other organizations reaching out to the Bolder Advocacy program for help and assistance. Additionally, this position works closely with the Director of Bolder Advocacy Operations and Evaluation and others across AFJ to ensure effective coordination of projects, grants, contracts, and invoices. Reporting directly to the Director of Bolder Advocacy Operations and Evaluation, this role is part of a union position covered by the terms of a collective bargaining agreement with the Washington-Baltimore New Guild, CWA Local 32035.
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Collaborates with BA program staff to coordinate workshops from start to finish, from the initial intake process, intro/screening calls, price determination, scheduling, registration, invoicing, and other logistical support
  • Provides excellent customer service to member, partner, and other organizations seeking training and technical support from the Bolder Advocacy program
  • Monitors the Bolder Advocacy inbox for technical assistance and other requests
  • Schedules the monthly technical assistance calendar
  • Maintains the Bolder Advocacy team calendar in Outlook
  • Maintains internal data tracking systems in EveryAction, Excel, Zoom, and other platforms with minimal oversight
  • Performs regular database maintenance, including data entry, data hygiene, and data quality assurance
  • Supports AFJ staff in building and maintaining relationships with nonprofits, funders, and other partners, particularly AFJ member organizations
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and/or participating in professional organizations
  • Provides support for other Bolder Advocacy team projects as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrable track record (1-2 years of experience) of providing administrative and/or program support; nonprofit and/or public interest organization experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or associate degree preferred, but not required
  • Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong collaborator and able to adapt quickly to changing situations
  • Demonstrates creativity, initiative, and judgement to manage own workload and support the Bolder Advocacy team
  • Exceptional computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Willingness to learn/implement new software/tech platforms quickly
  • Commitment to AFJ / AFJ Action’s mission and goals
  • Commitment to cultivating an organizational culture that is equitable, inclusive, and respectful

Work Environment
This is a full-time position. Some occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. AFJ’s non-management staff members are unionized under the Baltimore-Washington Newspaper Guild.
Compensation
This is a union position covered under the terms of a collective bargaining agreement with the Washington-Baltimore News Guild, CWA Local 32035, which includes salary minimums based on job position category. This position is in Group 1 with a starting salary range of $50,000 - $55,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

Job Location
