Job Description

United is currently seeking entry level Electrical Engineers in our Denver, CO office with 0-3 years of experience. The successful candidates will work as part of a multi-discipline team of engineers and designers, supporting our Energy Delivery Group in the design of utility substations, high voltage transmission lines, and distribution systems. The candidates will work with experienced engineers and designers to complete engineering assignments of limited to moderate complexity. They will be responsible for a variety of engineering tasks in the initial planning and design phase for projects under the direct supervision of a Supervising Electrical Engineer. The candidate will interact with other disciplines, project support groups, vendors and client representatives as appropriate on assigned projects.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Must have obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a 4 year ABET accredited college or university
  2. Must have completed coursework in Power Systems Analysis, Power Distribution System Apparatus, Energy and Electric Power or related power courses.
  3. Working knowledge of 2D CAD Software
  4. Excellent oral communication and technical writing skills
  5. Ability to Travel
  6. Experience using Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.
  7. Must be a U.S. Citizen or have authorization to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available.

Preferred Requirements

  1. Internship or Work-Study experience relating to electrical power engineering
  2. S. in Electrical Engineering with Power focus
  3. EIT/FE Certification
  4. Minimum 3.0 GPA
  5. Between 1 and 3 years of post-graduation professional electrical engineering experience
  6. Utility substation design experience
  7. Previous experience with an engineering firm in the power generation or distribution
  8. Experience using AutoCAD or Microstation software to prepare drawings
  9. Hands on experience with electrical equipment within industrial facilities
