Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Teachers are responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, social, physical, and psychological growth. Teachers are responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional curriculum/program that will result in students achieving academic success in accordance with Bruce Guadalupe Community School & United Community Center’s policies, procedures, and curriculum guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implements instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Identifies selects and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles and special ends.
  • Assists in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement. Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
  • Communicates effectively both orally and in writing, with students, parents and other professionals on a regular basis. Collaborates with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
  • Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers and community.
  • Ensures that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group and follows the curriculum’s scopes & sequences & guidelines.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationship with students, parents and other professionals.
  • Assumes responsibility for meeting student performance goals, IEP goals, etc.
  • Demonstrates gains in student performances.
  • Participates in all required licensing trainings and meetings, as well as BGCS, Head Start and UCC trainings, and meetings.
  • Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, collaborating with other staff, etc.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.
  • Must attend annual and biannual licensing trainings; attend Kindergarten meetings, and Head Start trainings, and meetings

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrates Basic computer knowledge, Basic knowledge of Excel, word, and Google Drive.
  • Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills, using MS Office, Google applications, and other basic data systems including Internet navigation.
  • Must be honest, dependable, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education. Possess strong oral and written skills communication skills. Works independently with little direct supervision, works as part of a team, accepts responsibilities and is self-motivated, demonstrates strong work ethic, and displays effective multi-tasking and time management skills. Utilizes all required and recommended BGCS curriculum. Must pass the Wisconsin Early Childhood Staff Health Report, which includes a TB test: Form number CFS-54 from the Department of Health and Family services.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
