SUPERVISES: Senior Advancement Officer, Director of Corporate Engagement & Institutional Partnerships, Assistant Director of Foundation Relations, Director of Annual Giving
SUMMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION : Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Advancement, the Associate Vice Chancellor for Development is a member of the Advancement division senior management team and is responsible for managing the major gift and annual giving efforts of the University, while managing a portfolio of principle gift prospects. As part of the University Advancement leadership team, the Associate Vice Chancellor for Development will work with other senior leaders to achieve fundraising goals and maximize the level of support for the University.
EXAMPLES OF PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required, Master's Degree preferred
EXPERIENCE: Significant (ten or more years) experience which includes a proven track record in both major gift fundraising and the management of a frontline fundraising team. Proven ability to motivate, engage and work with prospects and volunteers, university leaders, administrators, faculty, and staff. Demonstrated experience in managing and growing a diverse group of Advancement specialists.
OTHER: Local, regional and national travel may be required, as is flexibility in work hours to include evenings and weekends in order to successfully accomplish objectives and satisfy goals.
