Medline Industries is Hiring a Supply Planner Near Mundelein, IL
Under general supervision, responsible for translating demand plans into supply plans.Support demand planning by ensuring strong in-stock and service level through maintaining inventory levels, safety stock parameters, and lead times for component or finished good inventory.Responsible for working with internal and external partners to translate supply plan into purchase order/work order workload.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with plants, suppliers, and logistics to ensure a seamless flow of inventory.Coordinate and follow-up with suppliers, operations and warehousing regarding late orders, material outages, and/or special projects.
- Manage purchase order/work order size based on service commitments, existing inventory on hand, and lead times.Manage lead times to drive operational efficiency and improve service.
- Manage inventory turns and safety stock parameters, minimize surplus/obsolescence, and provide consistent input into workload plans.Understand plant/supplier capacity, lead-time and operational plans, to ensure proper inventory is maintained.
- Collaborate with demand planning to understand the impact of forecast changes and translate demand plan into inventory needs.Communicate with peers and escalate to leadership team when potential supply issues arise.
- Utilize system-generated reports to determine priorities, to identify and resolve potential issues, and to confirm/communicate results.Create ad hoc reporting when needed. Perform weekly root cause analysis.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Mathematics, Applied Statistics, or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in operations and/or supply chain.
- Experience communicating with internal and external business partners and cross functional teams at various levels.
- Experience applying concepts of basic algebra and/or statistics.
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Access (for example: designing and creating simple queries, modifying data types, adding dates, working with required fields and/or creating labels).
Certification / Licensure
- APICS Certification
- Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
- Experience interpreting and communicating results of analysis to various audiences.
- Experience taking the steps to ensure the assignment/ project is accomplished within tight timeframes.
- Experience processing all relevant details, understanding and prioritizing their importance and drawing clear and concise conclusions.
- Experience forecasting in sales, marketing operations, finance and manufacturing.
- Experience controlling and coordinating concurrent projects, competing priorities and critical deadlines.
- Experience communicating with internal and external business partners and cross functional teams at various levels.
