UCP of Long Island is Hiring a Residential Coordinator OPWDD Near Commack, NY

General Purpose of the Job Assists in the coordination and delivery of services needed to ensure the health and well being of individuals in a medically fragile intermediate care facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Supervise Midlevels and Direct Support Professionals (DSP).
  2. Conduct staff meetings on a regular basis.
  3. Cover open shifts in the absence of Midlevel Supervisor.
  4. Attend Residential and Day Treatment case conferences.
  5. Maintain daily records ensuring follow-through of daily logs.
  6. Complete payroll for Midlevels and DSPs.
  7. Track all training i.e. (AMAP, SCIP, CPR, fire drills, etc.), as well as, certifications and licenses.
  8. Interview, assign and train all new staff.
  9. Order supplies and interacts with vendors and service repairs.
  10. Ensure the operation of all equipment in the facility including laundry, and kitchen.
  11. Ensure data collection and timely completion of paperwork.
  12. Supervise facility cleaning staff and/or contractors.
  13. Ensure vans have scheduled service maintenance and repairs.
  14. Work as Administrator on Duty one weekend each month.
  15. Be available by cellular telephone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  16. Any other duties as assigned by the Program Supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervise Midlevel and DSPs in the residential facility. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or comparable hands-on experience with physically challenged or developmentally disabled
