Monday - Friday

Day shift position

Description:

To coordinate between the resident, the medical record and facility staff to monitor Infection Control issues and insure compliance with state, and federal regulations.

Accountability: Assistant Director of Nursing, Director of Nursing

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Antibiotic stewardship
  • Vaccinations for residents and employees
  • TB skin test for residents and employees
  • Make daily rounds in order to monitor infection control issues.
  • Check the Twenty Four Hour Report on a daily basis in order to monitor for residents with infections.
  • Add new infections to the master Infection Control Log.
  • Monitor staff performance for compliance with Infection Control protocol.
  • Assist with facility staff education programs and provide one on one in-service training, should the need arise
  • Prepare a monthly report of all resident infections to be given to Administration for presentation at the Quality Assurance Committee meeting.
  • Audit medical records in order to insure compliance with regulatory issues concerning Infection Control issues.
  • Assist with other nursing duties, as indicated (new admissions, hospital transfers, body audits).
  • Be knowledgeable about and promote resident rights.
  • Prevent abuse, neglect and exploitation in the elderly.
  • Promote a safe, clean environment in which the residents may live.
  • Any other duties, as requested by the Director of Nursing and/or Administrator.
  • Become a participating facility team member with the residents as first priority.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
