Position Summary...What you'll do...As aSenior Software Engineerfor Sam's Contact Center team , you will be a critical member of the team that leads, designs, builds, manages, and deploys some of the key technologies that powers our new and exciting global software initiative at Walmart. You will also get to mentor and develop a talented team of Engineers while working closely with cross-functional teams and leadership. Sam's Club also provides travel, auto purchasing, pharmacy, optical, hearing aid centers, tire and battery centers, and a portfolio of business operations support services.What you'll do:Design, build, and maintain high performant APIs and software services for Sam's customer experience team.Develop robust, maintainable, reusable code for managing functionality, configuration, deployment, monitoring, performance, scalability, availability, security, and alerting for software test, integration, and production environments.Plan and implement a series of steps which potentially includes reconfiguration, integration, removal, or addition of application components to enhance the application's functionality, resiliency, usability, and security.Understand the Business/Stakeholder/Technical requirements and assist in analyzing the existing solutions to address the needs. Assist in creation of simple, modular, extensible functional design for the product/solution in adherence to the requirements.Assess gaps/ updates/ modifications between the customer/business expectations and the existing product/solutions.Analyze defects from past projects/solutions to avoid recurrence of similar defects.Analyze system performance impacting the complete product for non-functional requirements like reliability, operability, performance efficiency and security. Troubleshoot performance and availability bottlenecks for the application.Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test cases and deployment procedures.Follow coding and design best practices developed by the teams and contribute towards their continuous improvement.What you'll bring:Backend: Java, Spring Framework, NodeJSDatabases: Relational (MySQL),Cloud experience: GCP or Azure Cloud Platform ( micro-services architectures (REST), event-based architecture (Kafka, JMS, etc.), Azure Storage, Kubernetes, Docker)Experience in managing web application and cloud with ability to debug at code level.Strong understanding of internals of web application along with database management.Ability to code/Script in one of the languages (Python or Java) and have working knowledge of SQL and Databases.Building monitoring tools and automation for managing the Production systems.Hands on experience in doing proofs of concepts based on business and technology needs and communicating Technology direction to top management.Experience with source code repositories (Git) and CI tools (Jenkins, Maven) and software provisioning and deployment automation tools.Exposure on Azure or Google Cloud and performing Orchestration, deployments & CI/CD using Ansible & Terraform.Exposure in deploying and managing Kubernetes and Container technologies like Docker is an added advantage.Exposure to one of the databases like MongoDB/MySQL/Teradata/Bigdata is a plus.Experience in building scalable/highly available distributed systems in production environment is desirable.Have an enthusiastic, go-for-it attitude.
